In the ever-evolving world of UV printing, where precision, consistency, and versatility are paramount, having a reliable color measurement instrument becomes a crucial aspect of the process. Vanguard Europe is the European subsidiary of Vanguard Digital Printing Systems, based in Brixen, Italy. The company, part of Durst Group, is a manufacturer of true flatbed and roll-to-roll UV printing systems for the signage, decoration, industrial and packaging sectors. Vanguard relies on Barbieri’s Spectro LFP qb to ensure optimal color accuracy and reproducibility across a wide range of applications and substrates.
One of the standout features of Barbieri’s Spectro LFP qb is the exceptional accuracy. In various specialty digital printing applications like backlit banner applications, acrylic, glass, or thicker materials, such as wood, concrete slabs, metal plates for doors, etc., where color consistency is non-negotiable, Barbieri spectrophotometers have proven to be indispensable.
The Spectro LFP qb offers precise color measurements, allowing Vanguard Europe and its clients to maintain consistent color quality across processes and ensures that the final products meet stringent color standards.
For backlit applications involving translucent materials, such as backlit banners, acrylic, and glass, the Spectro LFP qb offers a transmissive measurement mode, allowing for precise measurements of backlit materials even in challenging scenarios.
For applications involving thicker materials like wood, concrete, and metal, the Barbieri LFP qb effortlessly handles measurements of materials up to 20 mm thickness. This versatility enables Vanguard Europe and its clients to expand their horizons and explore new possibilities in printing on a wide range of substrates.
The fully automated measurement mode and the selectable measuring aperture (‘2, 6 and 8 mm”) is helpful to handle different structured materials for example for packaging and wood applications.
This board range of settings and features ensures that printed materials exhibit the highest color quality.
Josef Berger, Quality Assurance Manager at Vanguard Europe:
“The ‘Digital Output Control’ feature in the Barbieri Gateway software makes it simple, straightforward, and fast to perform an independent check of the printer and ink. For this tool, Durst Software and Solutions has developed the so-called “Fast Color Calibration” in its Workflow Software, which is also used in Vanguard machines. On our reproducibility tests, we continue to see excellent results from the measuring system (system, lens placement, measurement). This is a significant advantage, especially with corrugated boards, whose color patches are not uniform due to the flutes. We are pleased to have the fully automated Spectro LFP qb for process control and creating profiles with the highest color gamut.”
Conclusion
In the area of UV printing, where accuracy, consistency, and versatility are essential, Vanguard Europe has found a reliable partner in Barbieri’s color measurement instruments. With its exceptional accuracy and adaptability to different substrates, Barbieri’s devices are indispensable tools that enable Vanguard Europe and its clients to deliver outstanding results in the signage, decoration, industrial, and packaging sectors.
