Can you tell us why every digital printer needs color profiles?
Thanks for raising this interesting topic.I think the most important point is if we talk about printing, we have to consider that also, industrial and textile printing is switching more and more to digital printing.
If you really go to digital printing, you must have a digital front end to feed your press and this requires also good and solid color management handling. So you really have to bring your process under control from beginning to end.

The beginning is that you need to really profile your press and you need to get some good, valid measurement data to handle your press.

If you have a good digital front end, with a good integrated color management or a color server so that you can control the data coming into the print process, and you need to control the output, so that you have process control for your press.

The link between the two parts are the ICC profiles.

ICC profiles characterize the print output so that the incoming data can be adjusted in a way that it produces the best color match
possible with this specific printer.

So on one hand, make sure that your printer is running stable and reliable, and on the other hand, make sure that you know the color conversion of your printer and the color spectrum of your printer.
By characterizing it with the help of ICC profiles and feeding the data in a proper way, that the maximum output can be reached with your given device!
If you can have a controlled press and you know the outcome of your print process at a very early stage, you can work much more efficiently, you will create less waste and you will have a higher profitability!
