The DTP1150 is a high-quality color measuring instrument
following CIE standards. It measures colors of reflective materials with
utmost precision and displays them in the CIE values L*a*b*.
DTP1150 can be used in the following applications:
- Creation of ICC profiles;
- Measuring color samples and integrating Lab color
values into image processing software
- Measuring color distance Delta Eab according to CIE standards for
quality control

When preparing ICC profiles:
- Do you want to characterise individually each piece
of RGB- or CMY(K) output equipment?
- Do you want to proof with binding colors before starting exposure?
- Do you need a color profile for proofing?
Color printers, such as ink jet printers or
thermosublimation printers, are facing the problem that every single unit
yields different results. Even printer ageing may result in changing the
unit’s color space. Furthermore, different types of paper are used for
different applications.
DTP1150 comes complete with software providing monitor
and output profiles (Heidelberg ViewOpen ICC and PrintOpen ICC). This
software is available at choice for Mac or PC and serves characterising each
monitor, color printer or copier, proofer or printing machine printing in
RGB or CMY(K).
These profiles can be used on all platforms with
applications supporting ICC standards.
Preparing ICC profiles is simple:
1) Print document
2) Measure it
3) The software will calculate the ICC profile
Measuring color samples
Just measure the desired color. The instrument will show the Lab value
directly on the display. This color value can be integrated directly into
the image processing program, where it will be converted by means of the
ICC output profile into the corresponding RGB or CMYK color combination.
