History

BARBIERI electronic was founded in 1983 by Siegfried Barbieri.

After graduating with a degree in electronic engineering in Munich, Germany, Siegfried Barbieri worked for Siemens, Munich in the R&D department for telecommunications and thereafter for the company Durst in Brixen, Italy, as their chief engineer for the development of photographic color enlargers and their control and analyzing equipment. In 1983 he founded the company BARBIERI electronic.

The milestones in BARBIERI electronics' history:

 

1983

Foundation of BARBIERI electronic

1984

- Market launch of the first densitometer (Densy 301)
- Mr. Horst Klieber built-up the international sales structure

1986

The sons Stefan and Markus Barbieri enter into the company

1988

- First independent booth at Photokina, Cologne
- First computer-driven densitometer Densy 511
- Representations in more than 30 countries worldwide

1988

Electronic weather stations: Introduction of the first and worldwide biggest electronic frost warning system with wireless data transmission

1989-2000

Installation of further frost warning systems in Italy, Germany, France and Austria.

1990

Introduction of hand-held densitometers Densy 150, Densy 250 and Densy 450

1994

Relocation to the actual building

1995

Development of the quality control software QC-Xpert

1997

Looking for new markets and getting into the Color Management with the first automatic spectrophotometer Spectro 100xy

1998

Increase in production thanks to agreements with well-known international OEM-customers

1999

Stefan and Markus Barbieri take over the company

2000

- New hand-held densitometers with new design
- Innovative electronics with USB connection

2002

- New Spectro 50xy
- Introduction of complete solutions for Color Management in the photographic sector including hardware, software and training.

2004

- Presentation of the new and worldwide unique, automatic transmission and reflection spectrophotometer "Spectro LFP" for the Large Format and flatbed printing markets
- Introduction of the new corporate design

2005

- Quality Management System according to ISO 9000
